Now Forming

The Advanced Air MedicalEmergency Life Flight Association

We are building AAMELFA from the ground up. Before eVTOL and remotely piloted aircraft carry patients, the regulatory and technical foundations have to be right. AAMELFA exists to get those foundations right — together, and in the open — for a mission where there is no room for error.

Our Purpose

Foundations before flight

Advanced Air Mobility promises faster, farther, and more accessible emergency medical care. But air medical transport is one of the most safety-critical missions in all of aviation — and doing it with electric, remotely piloted, and autonomous aircraft is uncharted territory. AAMELFA is a not-for-profit-minded association being formed to bring regulators, operators, clinicians, and technologists together to solve the hard regulatory and technical questions first, so that when these aircraft do fly patients, they fly safely.

The Work Ahead

Regulatory & technical foundations

Two bodies of work have to mature before this mission is ready. AAMELFA working groups will tackle both, in the open, with the people who operate and oversee air medical care.

Regulatory

Regulatory frameworks

Mapping FAA, EASA, and international pathways for eVTOL and remotely piloted medical flight — type certification, operating rules, and airspace integration.

Operational standards

Defining crew qualification, dispatch authority, medical protocols, and go/no-go criteria before a single patient mission is flown.

BVLOS & airspace policy

Working with authorities on beyond-visual-line-of-sight approvals, C2 link requirements, and how autonomous medical flights share the airspace.

Technical

Technical & data standards

Common data models and interfaces so dispatch, aircraft, NG911 intake, in-flight connectivity, and hospital systems interoperate reliably.

Cybersecurity by design

Treating the dispatch and telemetry stack as safety-critical infrastructure — hardened, monitored, and resilient against attack from day one.

Verification & assurance

Establishing how feasibility, safety, and chain-of-custody are validated, audited, and continuously proven as the network scales.

Security & Healthcare Expertise

Cybersecurity and healthcare in AAMELFA's DNA

A patient-carrying, remotely piloted aircraft is only as trustworthy as the systems that dispatch and connect it. AAMELFA is being shaped with direct involvement from Tueor Technology, bringing cybersecurity and healthcare expertise to the association from the very beginning — so protection of patients, data, and flight- critical systems is a founding principle, not an afterthought.

What that brings to the table

  • Safety-critical cybersecurity practices for dispatch, telemetry, and command-and-control links.
  • Healthcare data protection and privacy grounded in real clinical and regulatory experience.
  • A risk-and-assurance mindset applied to standards before operations begin.
